I really like your articles about taste. The part about mindfulness reminds me of a scene that I really like in the Devil Wears Prada. The staff is discussing which of two belts to select to go with a specific dress, and both belts look like they have the same blue colour. Anne Hathaway giggles, apart from the group, as she believes she is above such mundane questions, interrupting everyone. Meryl Streep then proceeds to tell her the story behind the colour of the sweater she wears (which happens to be blue), displaying high knowledge and showing Anne Hathaway her being mindless about what she wears is not a sign of intelligence, but mereley a sign of... mindlessness. I like this scene because it shows that expertise is valuable, and no field should be discarded as being trivial: there is knowledge to gain everywear, even behind the colour of your favourite sweaters. :)
